consumed.....

Last weekend, I picked up the book 'Nineteen Minutes' by Jodie Piccoult, that Ive had sitting there for a little while waiting for the right time to read it. Well I started to read it, and then as always when I start a book I get consumed by it, cant focus on ANYTHING else, cant do anything else, barely sleep, barely talk, just READ until the last word. It drives me crazy but I just have so much trouble putting a book down to read a little bit at a time! I think it unfortunately is part of my OCD tendencies! It was however a pretty reasonable book, was spose to have a big 'twist' at the end, but picked it about half way through which made it a little disappointing. Not my FAVE book but definantly a good read and some major food for thought thru some of the main 'quotes' and lines in the book...
"If you spent your life concerntrating on what every one else thought of you, would you forget who you really were? What if the face you showed the world turned out to be a mask, with nothing beneath it?"
"I sometimes think its easier to be the one who's been hurt, than the one who couldnt stop it from happning"
A short synopsis incase youre interested:
Set in a small town in the wake of a horrific school shooting, Nineteen Minutes features the return of two beloved Picoult characters - Jordan McAfee, the lawyer from The Pact and Salem Falls, who once again finds himself representing a boy who desperately needs someone on his side; and Patrick Ducharme, the intrepid detective introduced in Perfect Match, whose best witness is the daughter of the superior court judge assigned to the case. As the story unfolds, layer after layer is peeled back to reveal some hard-hitting questions about the nature of justice, the balance of power and what it means to be different.
What could possibly make a person walk into a school with four guns and kill ten people? You’ll give a different answer after reading this book.
Then I finally get back into every day routine normalcy and even sleep, and then STUPID me pics up the other book I got "change of heart" and started reading yesterday! arrrghhhhh!! even when i got home at 3am last ngiht i STILL had to read, im resisting ALLLL urge at the moment to go back to reading, having some lunch and then MUST get these invitations worked on... but i can hear the book calling my name, and its getting interesting.... and and and i wont give in... must finish invites first I MUST I MUST!!...
"A change of heart - jodie piccoult"
A spellbinding tale of a mother's tragic loss and a criminal's last chance at finding salvation
One day June Nealon was happily anticipating a lifetime of laughter and adventure with her family, and the next, she was staring into a future that was as empty as her heart. Now her life is a waiting game. Waiting for time to heal her wounds, waiting for justice. Waiting for a miracle to happen. For Shay Bourne, life holds no more surprises. The world has given him nothing, and he has nothing to offer the world. In a heartbeat, though, something happens one day that changes everything for him. Now he has one last chance for salvation, and it lies with June's twelve-year-old daughter, Claire. But between Shay and Claire stretches an ocean of bitter regrets, past crimes and the rage of a mother who has lost her child.Would you give up your vengeance against someone you hate, if it meant saving someone you love? Would you want your dreams to come true, if it meant granting your enemy's dying wish?
